How do betting odds work?

Odds are traditionally displayed in either Fraction (3/1) or Decimal (4.0) formats.

Fractions show your potential winnings in relation to your stake. So if you have odds of 3/1, your stake of £1 will result in winnings of £3, with a total return of £4.

Decimals show your potential winnings inclusive of your stake, so if you place a £1 bet on odds of 4.00 you potential winnings will be £4 in total, including your initial stake.
